Aloha Got Soul invited me to listen to a sneak preview of the Mike Lundy album. This LP is a holy grail in rare Hawaiian funk music. The Rhythm Of Life is Mike Lundy’s only LP, recorded in 1979 in Honolulu, Hawaii. It will be released on november 28, 2015.
Inspired by bands like Tower Of Power and Earth, Wind & Fire, The Rhythm Of Life claims its identity in the funk-and-soul universe with inventive arrangements, clever rhythms, and a timeless quality that transcends the notion of what music from Hawaii should sound like.
I would like to share a two tracks of this album: 'So Sassy' and 'Tropic Lightning'.
